Standard PC memory can be used to expand your Roland VP-9000, but you need to be careful to get the right sort, and compatible memory.

Figure: 72 pin SIMM (Single Inline Memory Module)

SIMMS should be 72pin, 16 or 32MB, 5v, FPM or EDO, 60ns or faster, with a height of 36mm or less. The VP-9000 supports up to 4 additional SIMMS, totalling 64MB (if 16MB SIMMS are used) or 128MB. Including the internal memory, this would give a maximum total of 136MB. If necessary you can mix 16MB and 32MB modules, and both 'parity' and 'non-parity' memory is supported.

Note the single notch in the centre. Most SIMMS also have pins (1) and (72) printed on them. Also spot the cutout near pin 1 which ensures the SIMM is located the right way round. For more information on installing the SIMMS see page 4 of the User Guide.
